Experience:

1990 to Present

Wade has a comprehensive technical background in audio design plus extensive field experience in system installation and testing. His use of computer modelling in the design of audio systems and analysis of room acoustics has been used to advantage on numerous projects including churches, theatres and a wide range of other facilities. He is certified to design computer-controlled sound systems using the Crown IQ System, receiving the highest marks in his class at Crown International's IQ University.

1985 to 1990

He was involved in representing the owner during the final construction phase of the sound systems within the Calgary Centre for Performing Arts. Following opening he worked on both remedial system designs and the design of new sound and communication systems within this multi-venue complex. This included the TEF evaluation and refit of the eight-channel sound system in the Jack Singer Concert Hall and designs of specialized festival sound systems. Responsibility for project budgets and labour supervision offered considerable experience in achieving results within the constraints of budget and facility access.

To achieve the best results for CCPA sound system applications, he studied with Don and Carolyn Davis of Synergetic Audio Concepts and undertook research into concert techniques at Symphony Hall in Boston, MA. He developed a system for stereo recording of symphony concerts that was reliable and robust. This system was incorporated into the CBC recordings made in this venue. He also performed field measurements for Artec Consultants, New York, NY and gained considerable experience in the application of variable acoustics for music and speech.

1980 - 1985

He developed audio systems to produce a wide range of audio environments in fine art galleries and music performance venues. This work included involvement with international artists and performers that required very specific audio elements for public performance or exhibition. He was also commissioned by arts agencies to produce audio and multi-media art for exhibition across North America and Europe. This experience in creatively developing audio systems that met specific and demanding applications is now applied to creating A/V and sound system designs that are tailored to the clients requirements and budget.

1975 - 1980

He worked with a small team of individuals to produce countless recordings of symphonic, jazz and popular music for broadcast and record albums. He was also the principal recording engineer for over 70 radio drama productions. The CBC provided in-depth studies of recording and production techniques and also allowed considerable experimentation into a wide range of microphone techniques that have formed the basis for Wade's later work in designing recording systems for symphonic music.

Activities:

Wade is a recognized technical expert in specialized aspects of audio design and acoustical measurement. As such he is frequently commissioned to prepare technical articles for a number of U.S. magazines including Systems Contractor News and EQ Magazine. He has been an invited panelist at both the NSCA and AES conventions. He has also been an invited lecturer at numerous seminars as indicated below.
